NGC 6984 – Hubble Space Telescope Image
NGC 6984 unfurls across the left of this Hubble Space Telescope image, its luminous spiral form set against an expansive black field. A warm, softly glowing centre anchors the composition, while broad sweeps of blue, pink and red curve outwards into increasingly delicate strands. The off-centre placement gives those outer structures room to breathe—and to fade gradually into darkness.
Colour and texture are most concentrated along the left-hand arm, where vivid blue and pink regions mingle in a succession of knots, folds and wispy trails. Sharply illuminated patches alternate with shadowed spaces, breaking the spiral into intricate layers rather than a single continuous band. Around it, scattered points of light punctuate the otherwise deep background.
A closer look
Near the core, the palette becomes warmer and more compressed. Numerous small points gather within the central glow, lending it a finely granular texture. From here, narrow traces of light appear to stream into the surrounding black, some clearly defined and others dissolving into soft gradients of blue and red.
Farther out, the structure becomes more elusive. Along the outer edge, elongated filaments loosen from the brighter arm and taper almost imperceptibly into space. Tiny spark-like points sit beside these faint extremities, while the broad darkness to the right heightens the impression of a brilliant, intricate form suspended in a much larger field.

Choosing the right size and finish
Fine art can feel intimate at smaller sizes and more architectural at larger ones. Use the room preview, model image and size guide to judge the scale of the piece in your space.
For exact dimensions, specialist framing or a larger project, ask our workshop for advice.
The model in the listing images is holding the 16x16in (40x40cm) version of this art print.
Where personalisation is available, you can add a short title or dedication, or one considered visual detail. See examples of personalised artwork.
Choose Original for colour that remains faithful to the source artwork, or Aged for a warmer antique character. See examples of our Aged artwork.
Every piece is printed to museum-grade archival standards using fade-resistant pigment inks on acid-free matte paper. Choose an art print, framed art print or canvas using the finish options above.
Framed art prints use crystal-clear optical acrylic for excellent clarity, reduced reflections and safer delivery. They arrive professionally framed and ready to hang.
Selected artworks can be produced at statement sizes up to 3 metres (10ft). Custom sizing and specialist framing are also available; contact our workshop if the exact option you need is not listed.
